Saito Design School (SDS) recently underwent a project to revamp its image and enhance its identity as a design school, with the goal of refreshing people's perception of SDS and attracting new students. As part of this project, two student teams were involved, and I was part of the team in charge of collateral design.
Using the new brand identity developed by the other team, my team created key visuals and several collateral designs for use as promotional materials to help promote SDS.
Our target audience was high school graduates seeking further education, and we opted for a manga-style illustration approach to make the designs relevant to this audience. As most high school graduates have a better understanding and appreciation of design through illustration and drawing, we felt that hand-drawn illustrations would be the most effective approach. Additionally, the use of hand-drawn illustrations helped to create an authentic feeling in the overall design.
