Those are the unique way how people call for order and payment in Malaysia Mamak stall. Willing to covert this 'Mamak style' into profitable items, the client has requested me to create two illustrations, which will be applied on T-shirt.
The illustration on the left depicts how customers at Mamak stalls in Malaysia call for orders by making a 'chuick' sound. The illustration on the right shows how customers call for payment by rotating their hand on the table and yelling 'boss kira' (a Malay slang to ask the boss to calculate the total price).
Desired for a more playful and abstract look, the client returned to me with draft illustrations for the second version. My task was to refine the illustrations and ensure they were well-rendered.
